Sparkz Link aims to help match Clients with Electrical companies and Sub-Contractors directly across the UK. Sparkz Link is a simple concept using a list of clients and a list of Electrical companies, each with a tab button that slides from "looking for work" (Green) "or not" (Red). Clients share their requirements and business background on their profile whilst Electrical companies and Sub-Contractors add their qualifications and experience.
There's only one clause. "The Client and Contractor will contribute towards the sponsor of Electrical Apprentices as per contract agreed between parties". An algorithm based on work specifications will present both parties with a small fee.
With no middleman involved Electrical Companies subbing out can save money whilst still paying a little more. We need to move away from the mindset that it is just easier to use an Agency, those fees alone could pay for the sponsor of many Electrical Apprentices.
This Benefits the Electrical Industry as a whole, it means Apprentices are paid correctly without the burden regarding One-Man-Bands and small companies which make up most of the Electrical Industry. Many Electricians would benefit from having an Apprentice but simply cannot afford the costs. For many budding Apprentices the door is already shut, they struggle to find companies to take them on due to the costs approximately £15,000 / £20,000 per year.
The knock-on effect of limited Apprentices coming through the ranks means the skill shortage increases. In the end many Clients and Electrical companies will find themselves without the people-power to carry out their requirements.
Sparkz Link takes no fees from either Client or Contractor, however in order to maintain the process Electrical Advertisers are welcome. This is a community effort to make a change to an industry that really needs to be dealt with.
